Boken Doublecross 42

This is my second time ordering the Double Boken. Definitely worth the price and they deliver on their ruggedness and reliability.

I’ve been running the IRC Boken DoubleCross 42mm tires for almost 2 years now. One pair has served me well and have recently put a new pair on before a Southern Utah gravel race. These tires have proven to be one of the most versatile and confidence-inspiring gravel tires I’ve used.

Durability has been a standout feature. I’ve ridden these extensively on tough gravel in Northwest Arkansas and have continued using them for months in both Northern and Southern Utah, where rocky, dry, and unpredictable surfaces are the norm. They’ve held up beautifully. Cornering grip is excellent—especially on broken gravel, over-hard surfaces, and loose climbs where traction usually disappears. When the terrain gets gnarly, the DoubleCross lives up to its name.

Comfort is another big plus. The 42mm width provides enough volume to smooth out chatter and rough sections without feeling sluggish. Run tubeless, they deliver a stable, predictable ride that encourages you to push a little harder.

Bottom line: fast, tough, grippy, and dependable—these tires just work.

…..and just by these wheels. Seriously. I’ve used gravel tire from more than 7 different brands. The Boken Doublecross, for me, shines above the others. How? Roll fast AF, predictable grip in climbing, turning and stopping also good durability! PLUS they are very competitively priced. A full mic drop by IRC !

When it comes to rough terrain, these tires hold up strong. Never had a puncture during a race, even at some of the most gnarly courses (e.g. Big Sugar in Bentonville).
