Tanken 29" x 2.3" - All Mountain

IRC

The Tanken enduro tire is built for long downhill runs and windy single track. Just hop on and ride. The big knobby block tread provides traction in soft dirt and mud so you don’t have to worry about terrain. Carry more speed into the turns. Aggressive side blocks hook up when cornering and dare you to push harder. Lean in. Alternating rows of vertical and horizontal blocks gives lateral traction on off-camber surfaces. Grip the trail. The Tanken is made with a low rebound compound that absorbs bumps to keep you attached to the ground when the trail gets rough.

  • Low-Rebound high-grip Compound
  • 60TPI casing
  • Big Shoulders Hook Up When Cornering Hard
  • Alternating Rows of Vertical and Horizontal Blocks Gives Lateral Traction on Off-Camber Surfaces
  • Sidewall protection provides stiffness and exceptional durability

Tanken 2.3 and 2.6

I feel like the IRC Tanken is one of the most underrated MTB tires out there. I was honestly surprised — in a good way — by the quality and performance.

I’m running Tanken on two of my bikes: my classic trail setup and my enduro e-bike.

What I really like is the grip it delivers without sacrificing rolling efficiency.
Tubeless setup is a breeze. And the durability-to-weight ratio is spot on.

I’m running a 29x2.3 in the rear and a 29x2.6 up front — works great.

Tanken transformed my bike!

I added the Tanken 2.3 tires to my Salsa Cutthroat (which I ride like a dropbar MTB). On the first ride I could tell I was in for a new chapter. Super sticky side lugs made cornering so much more reliable. Even braking was profoundly improved. There is a bit of weight penalty, but given that I have no shocks to lug around, it is well worth it. Thanks to Pete Stetina for leading me to IRC! (I already ride the Boken Double-cross on my lighter gravel bike).

So much grip!

Amazing tires! Switch to these from the Assegai, night and day difference in grip.
